11 groups of population. The poll by Michail Mchedlov
(old "Soviet specialist in religion", now the head of the center "Religion

New statistics of VTsIOM (Vechernyaya
Moskva, 31.8.2001). 82% of Moscow inhabitans are baptized (Russia in general
75%). Non-believers: 36%. Russian Orthodox: 53% in Moscow (in Russia 50%). 50%
do not attend the church at all, 2% - once per week, 7% - once per month. Never
going to the communion - 62% (so, we have 12% of Russian Orthodox who never
go the Communion). Once per week: 1%, per month - 3%, several times per year:
12%.
