Vassula Ryden
The book of Vassula Ryden was published in Moscow in 1992. For some time it
was very popular, now it is forgotten (here
is my review of the book in Russian, 1994). In 1990, October 14 (the Russian
Orthodox feast of Pokrov) Vassula visited Russian Orthodox church in Moscow
and wanted to go to the Communion, but the priest told her that this is impossible
because she is Roman Catholic.
Ryden was born in Egypt in 1942, her husband is a diplomat, she
has a lot of free time. Her book is filled with typically Roman
Catholic declaration about the Pope as the Vicar of Christ. At the
same time she is deeply anti-clerical and bitterly criticizes Popes
as well (I guess, Paul VI is her main aim as a new Judas.)
Her first vision of Russia is dated with January 20, the year uncertain,
but earlier than 1990.
Everything whuch Ryden tells about Russia can be applied to any
country and nation. The idea that "Russia will govern the rest
of My children in holiness" is not very temptating, because
the terms "holiness" and "to govern" when applied
to the nation are too vague. There is no instruments to measure
whether such predicament is fulfilled or not.
Many Russian Orthodox Christians are convenced that Russia now
is the main Christian country of the world. Patriarch Alexy seems
to share this view. This position doesn't coincide with classical
messianism, because it is combined with isolationism. Russian triumphalism
has no wish to save anyone in the "outer world."
Above all, Russian fundamentalism in 1990-s tends to see Soviet
period of Russian history not as a period of downfall and "wretchedness"
(Ryden). The nation didn't "broke an alliance" with God,
it was faithful, and only outer forces (Jews, free-masons, Bolshevics,
Americans) made Christian nation suffer. The idea that Bolshevic
revolution of 1917 was inspired by American bankers is a commonplace
in nationalist rethoric.
Using the True Life in God search engine on the message index
here is one example from the messages recieved by Vassula Ryden
on Russia: This was October 20th,1992:
Come, write: My Peace I give you;
I am the Resurrection, and resurrection shall
soon take place in My daughter Russia. Do not be judge of her sons
and daughters so that I will not be compelled to judge you . Were
anyone perfect among you, you would still count for nothing in My
Perfection. Soon the Glory will be given to Me in its fullness and
Russia will govern the rest of My children in holiness.
I, the Lord, am asking you for your prayers,
your sacrifices and expiations so that all these things may lead
My Russia near Me. In her wretchedness I will show My Mercy; in
her weakness, My Power and My Authority; in her nothingness all
that I Am; and in her aridity I shall make Rivers flow out of her.
I shall uproot in her all that is not Me and in these empty spaces,
plant My Graces in her - I shall plant seeds of Love and Peace.
"Russia, it is not long ago since you broke
your alliance with Me, burst your bonds and said: 'I will not serve
You!' Now I shall give you children who will proclaim My Name in
Holiness and say: 'blessed is He who restored our sight and touched
our heart; blessed is He who changed our ways healing us.' Then,
with Me in you and you in Me, you will live and with Our Two Hearts
in your heart you will give Me the Glory foretold."
Vassula, My bride, for My sake, pray for the full conversion of
Russia. I, the Lord, bless you My child. Never forget that I am
He who loves you most - My Heart can be touched...
