"Sud'ba" in Russian has the same rich variety of meanings as "fate"
in English. It can also mean "the destiny" or "vocation."
But in this special case Berdyaev obviuosly wrote in most tragic situation when
it became commonplace of intellectuals that Russia had perished forever on October
25, 1917. This is why I've used "fatum": "The Tragedy of Russia."
"End of Russia".
